Sharing a common Outlook Folder

Common Contact Folder
If you are going to share a common Outlook folder and you want to Synchronize both ways with contact removal enabled, EVERY user that is sharing the folder has to have the following:
·The same ACT! Privileges i.e. you must not mix Administrators with regular users, etc..
·NO Private contacts should be enabled to be synched. Only public contacts must be synched. If you force private contacts to be synched, they may be deleted by the next user.
·Everyone has to have the same contact filter i.e. if you convert all, everyone sharing the folder must have the convert all filter enabled.

Common Calendar/Tasks folder
If you are going to share common calendar/tasks folder you must:
·Disable Private Activities from being converted.
·Everyone sharing has to have the same ACT! Privileges.

What happens if you do not follow the restrictions above?
To group users with different privileges or different contact filtering mechanisms into a common Outlook folder is ok is you are only going to transfer data 1-way from ACT! over to Outlook. However, if you synchronize, erroneous deletions will result and you will have data removed from the database. In addition, duplication may ensue with results that are not predictable.
